>> 2 cups chicken of the woods mushrooms, cut into 1" strips
>> 3/4 cup unbleached flour
>> 1/8 cup arrowroot
>> 1/8 cup powdered vegetable soup stock
>> 2 tsp paprika
>> 3 tsp garlic powder
>> 3 tsp onion powder
>> 2 tsp ground black pepper
>> 2 extra large eggs
>> 1/4 cup milk
>> wing sauce - your choice
In a medium bowl, combine the dry ingredients. In another medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
Set up your dredging area with the flour and egg bowls and the air fryer basket on top of a large plate or cutting board to catch any loose flour.
Dip each piece of the mushroom into the flour mixture on both sides, then into the egg mixture, then back into the flour mixture. Shake off excess flour, then gently place on the air fryer tray or basket.
Preheat your air fryer to 375 degrees F (if your air fryer requires preheating).
Air fry for 15 to 18 minutes, flipping halfway. The cook time will vary depending on your air fryer model and if it needs preheating, but the mushrooms should be crisp on the outside without being too dry. Thinner pieces will take about 15 minutes, thicker pieces might need 18 minutes.
Toss the air fried mushroom pieces in your favorite wing sauce and serve warm. Or dip them individually with your favorite dip!
